Ideation
Possible crest layouts. The main goal was to make a crest that was very traditional, resulting the club appear to have been formed in early 1900s Latin America instead of 2020s United States.

Inspiration: River Plate (ARG), Boca Juniors (ARG), Palmeiras (BRA)
Possible typefaces were chosen based on how they reflected San Diego's colonial Spanish history or their association with its beaches
The colors in the palette were chosen based on their representation in key aspects of San Diego, such as local sports teams, the city flag, and the city's beaches
Inspiration

When building the visual identity of a sports club, it is very important to include aspects of the city/state that its fans will have a connection with.
Inspiration was taken from many features of San Diego that make the city unique:
- Seal and Flag of the City of San Diego
- Naval Base San Diego
- San Diego Padres and San Diego Wave FC
- Spanish Colonial Revival Architecture
- Large presence of Hispanic/Chicano culture
- Coastline and Beaches
